Awesome 2024 Onam looks
This Onam, social media was abuzz with festive photos and reels, each creative and different. Onam looks mostly stuck to the ivory and gold palette of traditional wear, with interesting rec-creations of old world looks and modern interpretations of the ethnic drape.
Avantika Mohan flaunted a traditional handwoven Kerala saree with red and black borders along with rich golden zari. She paired the saree with a bright hand embroidered red blouse and a dangling earring with a matti. A simple and arresting traditional look done right.
Manjima Mohan went vintage with a rich Bengali vibe in beige matka silk saree with a bright red bordern and an organza pallu with highlight sequins. She chose a casual drape, and wore it with elan pairing it with an ivory blouse. Her jewellery was minimal but traditional, and her hair left open was dressed only by the matti of her earrings.
Navya Nair ware a classic Malayalee look with her deep green blouse, tasteful jewellery and a scalloped Kerala saree. Ruby and gold bangles and jasmines on her braid completed her tasteful look.
Keerthi Suresh kept her Onam look casual as well, though her saree was richly embroidered with the cultural motifs of Onam. Her cotton Kerala saree was paired with an apple green blouse with the same motifs.
Ahana Krishna and her family chose to go for the simple rustic Kerala look for their Onam photoshoot. Ahana wore the traditional puliyilakara set mundu, and paired it with glass bangles and simple ornaments. She interlaced jasmine with thulasi for her hair garland.
In complete contrast, Aishwarya Lakshmi went modern in her Masaba saree, apt for Onam with its ivory and gold detailing. She layered the simple saree with multiple aesthetic chokers.
Namitha Pramod chose to wear a simple cotton saree with a beautiful shade of blue for her Benarasi blouse. Arresting jewellery, a jasmine strand on her hair, and red glass bangles made her a perfect Malayalee for Onam.
Anusree as usual elected the royal look for Onam. A traditional golden tissue set mundu with lotus zari motifs, green and red lotus motifs woven on its borders, matched with a deep red blouse with detailing on the sleeve. She accessorised the look with heavy traditional gold jewellery
